Celebrating: Shantell Our Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator
At Antosz Vincelli Orthodontics in Calgary, we’re more than just a team dedicated to providing orthodontic treatment and good service — we’re more like family!
So, we’d like to say Happy 20th Anniversary to Shantell. Shantell, now at our Aspen Landing Orthodontics location, has been a valued member of our staff for a wonderful 20 years.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her yet, you can get to know her below. (And if you have, did you know these things about her?)
Name
Shantell
Tell us something about yourself. Brag a little!
AKA Dora the explorer! I have the “gotta go” kinda personality and love to explore!
What do you do at Antosz Vincelli Orthodontics?
I do it all! Orthodontic treatment coordinator and clinical assistant, and administration when needed; educating in the community, marketing to our fellow colleagues, developing and nurturing relationships throughout the dental community.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Antosz Vincelli Orthodontics?
The versatility of my job. I love to educate and help people.
Have you had any orthodontic work? When? Tell us a little more.
Yes, when I was 13 years old I had full braces and elastics for 1 year to correct a crossbite and some minor crowding. It was then I knew I wanted to get into orthodontics.
Do you have any children, grandchildren? Share a little about them.
My husband and I share the joy of 3 amazing children. Our oldest has been chasing her dreams in Australia for the past 6 years. She is very artistic and free-spirited. She was in the Young Canadian’s of the Calgary Stampede cast for 8 years. Our middle is in MRU taking child studies currently. She is beyond her years and very mature. Loves to read, dine and watch movies. Our youngest is graduating from grade 12 this year. He has played hockey for 14 years with various other sports in the off season. He has taken a great liking to photography and also has a very artistic mind.
If you have a pet, what’s your favorite thing about him or her?
Lola – a female shitzu. She is sweet and snuggly but has attitude like all the girls in the house!
Who is your role model? Who do you admire? List three things you like about them.
A great friend of mine. She is fearless, intelligent and knows how to enjoy life and live in the moment. So important and not easy to do.
What makes you laugh?
My family! They are so silly.
Let’s talk about hobbies. When you’re not working, what do you do for fun?
I’m very outdoorsy, so really anything goes if I can find someone to play with. Hike /bike/ paddle /ski/ snowshoe… the list goes on. I will try anything.
Do you volunteer? If so, where? Tell us a little bit about what you do.
Hustle for the House in Calgary. Our practice sponsors the finish line water station. We cheer and make it a real celebration as the contestants cross the finish line.
What’s your favourite charity?
Hustle for the House
If you were a superhero, who would it be? Why?
Super Woman…it’s all in the name…her strength and composure, a modern-day woman that can fight any battle thrown at her. And she was beautiful.
What was your last Halloween costume?
Gold Goddess
